International Children's Memorial Day

International Children's Memorial Day is commemorated on the 29th of January each year with a balloon release on the Esplanade, Darwin. We welcome parents and loved ones who would like to share in this special day of remembrance.

Balloons are released at 5.30pm, so please arrive a little earlier.

Enviro-friendly balloons provided.

NOTE: In the event of heavy rain, please come directly to the Novotel - we will blow balloons up inside then release them when there is a break in the rain.

Cradle is a Northern Territory (Australia) support group for parents and their families who have suffered the loss of a child of any age through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, or any other tragedy.

CRADLE Helps by:

Acknowledgement of a pregnancy ended before 20 weeks gestation

Whilst a birth certificate cannot be issued for babies between 0-20 weeks gestation, a commemorative certificate can be issued by the NT Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages.
