Cradle is a Northern Territory (Australia) support group for parents and their families who have suffered the loss of a child of any age  through miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, or any other tragedy. 

CRADLE Helps by:

• Facilitating a monthly support meeting on the 2nd Saturday of every month 10a.m. at Darwin Private Hospital.
• Understanding that confidentiality is most important.
• Having a small lending library of books and videos about this special grief.
• Being an advocate for families when needed.
• Providing a 24 hour telephone contact  for counselling or more information on 0438 272 353.
• Providing brochures about such  issues as;

• Early Pregnancy Loss/Miscarriage.
• When Your Baby Dies.
• Grieving For Your Baby.
• Fathers Grieve Too.
• What Do I Do Now.
• How Can You Help The Grieving Parent.
• Ectopic Pregnancy.
• Information On The Decision To Have A Post Mortem Carried Out On Your Baby.
• Pregnancy Loss As A Result Of Termination Due To Foetal Abnormailty
• Anticipatory Grief

These are also available in hard copy in the appropriate areas of Royal Darwin Hospital and Darwin Private Hospital as well as Katherine, Tennant and Alice Springs Hospitals.

Acknowledgement of a pregnancy ended before 20 weeks gestation

 

Whilst a birth certificate cannot be issued for babies between 0-20 weeks gestation, a commemorative certificate can be issued by the NT Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages.
